En effet, surmonter la contagion psychologique est l&#039;une des dimensions les plus difficiles du r\u00e9tablissement de la sant\u00e9 publique. Les manifestations physiques horribles d&#039;Ebola pr\u00e9sentent une recette parfaite pour une peur contagieuse, non seulement parmi les personnes infect\u00e9es par la maladie, mais aussi envers ces m\u00eames personnes si elles y survivent. C&#039;est un douloureux paradoxe.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/wwwnc.cdc.gov\/eid\/article\/21\/3\/14-1838_article#suggestedcitation\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Les personnes qui survivent \u00e0 Ebola d\u00e9veloppent des anticorps qui peuvent sauver la vie d&#039;autres personnes infect\u00e9es<\/a>. Malgr\u00e9 cette r\u00e9alit\u00e9 clinique, ces anticorps ne font rien pour prot\u00e9ger les survivants de l&#039;ostracisme \u00e0 long terme et des cicatrices psychologiques. <a href=\"http:\/\/www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov\/pubmed\/15608831\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">L&#039;exp\u00e9rience ant\u00e9rieure du SRAS est illustrative<\/a>* car elle a douloureusement mis en lumi\u00e8re le pouvoir d&#039;une maladie infectieuse \u00e9mergente de stigmatiser ceux qui parviennent \u00e0 s&#039;en remettre physiquement ; ainsi, introduisant des blessures psychologiques qui peuvent durer longtemps apr\u00e8s la r\u00e9solution de l&#039;infection.<\/p>\n<p>Dans ce contexte, les efforts de communication sur la sant\u00e9 peuvent et doivent jouer un r\u00f4le central dans l&#039;att\u00e9nuation de la stigmatisation envers les survivants d&#039;Ebola (et d&#039;autres nouvelles \u00e9pid\u00e9mies potentielles de maladies infectieuses \u00e0 l&#039;horizon). En tant que chercheur en communication <a href=\"http:\/\/www.psandman.com\/articles\/amsa.htm\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Peter Sandman a not\u00e9 avec justesse<\/a>, la perception du risque est la somme du danger r\u00e9el et de l&#039;indignation (parfois appel\u00e9e \u00ab\u00a0effroi\u00a0\u00bb ou \u00ab\u00a0peur\u00a0\u00bb) qui accompagne ce danger.<\/p>\n<p>En cons\u00e9quence, une communication efficace des risques pour r\u00e9duire la stigmatisation parmi les survivants d&#039;Ebola doit aborder non seulement les faits cliniques de la maladie, mais aussi le sentiment de terreur envers ceux qui en ont \u00e9t\u00e9 infect\u00e9s et qui doivent reprendre leur vie s&#039;ils ont la chance avoir surv\u00e9cu. La recherche en communication sur le SRAS a soulign\u00e9 l&#039;importance des campagnes de communication sur la sant\u00e9 ciblant les personnes \u00e0 risque de stigmatisation et d&#039;ostracisme, dans le cadre d&#039;une campagne de communication sur la sant\u00e9 plus large au niveau de la soci\u00e9t\u00e9. Les survivants de la maladie \u00e0 risque de stigmatisation vont des membres du grand public aux professionnels de la sant\u00e9 qui peuvent \u00eatre infect\u00e9s au cours du traitement d&#039;autres personnes. Le recrutement d&#039;agents de confiance, tels que des dirigeants communautaires confessionnels, pour diffuser des messages de d\u00e9stigmatisation sur les risques peut contribuer \u00e0 ces efforts de communication vitaux.<\/p>\n<p>Bien s\u00fbr, lutter contre la stigmatisation des survivants de la maladie implique de reconna\u00eetre son existence. Une surveillance continue du contenu des m\u00e9dias traditionnels et sociaux est donc n\u00e9cessaire pour aider les autorit\u00e9s de sant\u00e9 publique et les autres fournisseurs de communication des risques \u00e0 identifier l&#039;\u00e9mergence et les sch\u00e9mas de stigmatisation aux niveaux local, national et r\u00e9gional. La recherche peut encore accro\u00eetre la connaissance situationnelle de la pr\u00e9valence de la stigmatisation par le biais de groupes de discussion, d&#039;entretiens avec des informateurs cl\u00e9s et\/ou d&#039;enqu\u00eates quantitatives.<\/p>\n<p>La stigmatisation peut avoir de profonds impacts \u00e9conomiques et sur la qualit\u00e9 de vie de ceux qui en sont victimes et ces impacts peuvent malheureusement faire partie de la \u00ab\u00a0nouvelle normalit\u00e9\u00a0\u00bb \u00e0 la suite de telles \u00e9pid\u00e9mies. \u00c0 son tour, cette \u00ab\u00a0nouvelle normalit\u00e9\u00a0\u00bb inadapt\u00e9e peut avoir des effets importants et tragiques li\u00e9s \u00e0 la justice sociale sur ceux qui ont d\u00e9j\u00e0 directement fait face aux ravages d&#039;une maladie terrifiante.
