Photo publi\u00e9e avec l&#039;aimable autorisation d&#039;Anna Helland.<\/p><\/div>\n<p>C&#039;est un grand nombre, et pourtant il ne montre toujours pas l&#039;ensemble des d\u00e9g\u00e2ts de l&#039;\u00e9pid\u00e9mie d&#039;Ebola - pas seulement les d\u00e9c\u00e8s, mais la perte de confiance, les traditions et les syst\u00e8mes de sant\u00e9 fragiles. <a title=\"NPR La vie apr\u00e8s la mort Ebola\" href=\"http:\/\/apps.npr.org\/life-after-death\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">NPR a une belle pi\u00e8ce multim\u00e9dia<\/a> sur une communaut\u00e9 lib\u00e9rienne traumatis\u00e9e par Ebola qui montre bien ce bilan. Ce qui frappe dans la pi\u00e8ce, ce n&#039;est pas tant le traumatisme, mais la r\u00e9silience. Au milieu du traumatisme, nous voyons le visage et entendons les paroles d&#039;une femme dont le mari et ses autres \u00e9pouses sont morts d&#039;Ebola, et elle doit s&#039;occuper de tous leurs enfants. &quot;Le m\u00eame amour que leurs m\u00e8res m&#039;ont donn\u00e9, je leur donne&quot;, dit-elle. J&#039;ai d\u00fb lire cette phrase deux fois pour comprendre que ce n&#039;\u00e9tait pas l&#039;amour que les m\u00e8res donnaient \u00e0 leurs enfants qu&#039;elle essaie maintenant de donner, mais qu&#039;elle puise dans un puits profond d&#039;amour que ces femmes avaient l&#039;une pour l&#039;autre. Dans la m\u00eame histoire, un homme raconte ce qui s&#039;est pass\u00e9 dans son village et leur travail pour se ressaisir. Il dit &quot;Si mon voisin n&#039;est pas content, je ne suis pas content.&quot;<\/p>\n<p>Une autre histoire de NPR <a href=\"http:\/\/www.npr.org\/blogs\/goatsandsoda\/2015\/02\/17\/386549211\/the-grandpa-who-saved-his-granddaughter-from-ebola\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">dresse le portrait d&#039;un grand-p\u00e8re qui a surv\u00e9cu \u00e0 Ebola<\/a> dans une unit\u00e9 de traitement Ebola (ETU), puis est rest\u00e9 dans l&#039;ETU pour soigner sa petite-fille bien-aim\u00e9e de cinq ans pendant la maladie. Ce sont des histoires de r\u00e9silience et d&#039;amour familiales et communautaires, et elles sont \u00e9mouvantes et inspirantes.<\/p>\n<p>Ce serait tellement bien de conclure que parce que les familles sont fortes et que les communaut\u00e9s sont r\u00e9silientes, elles survivront et prosp\u00e9reront et nous ne les avons donc pas laiss\u00e9 tomber.<\/p>\n<p>Mais la m\u00eame pi\u00e8ce multim\u00e9dia de NPR contient des photos de la clinique de la communaut\u00e9, dirig\u00e9e par une infirmi\u00e8re. Il y avait aussi un agent de sant\u00e9 communautaire, mais il est mort d&#039;Ebola. Ces photos donnent une id\u00e9e de la fragilit\u00e9 de la structure sanitaire en contraste avec la r\u00e9silience de la communaut\u00e9.<\/p>\n<p>Quelle est la fragilit\u00e9 des syst\u00e8mes de sant\u00e9 au Lib\u00e9ria, en Sierra Leone et en Guin\u00e9e ?<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Les \u00c9tats-Unis comptent 2,5 m\u00e9decins pour 1 000 habitants. Le Lib\u00e9ria compte 1 m\u00e9decin pour 100 000 habitants.<\/li>\n<li>La Sierra Leone, le Lib\u00e9ria et la Guin\u00e9e se classent 5, 8 et 13 dans le taux mondial de mortalit\u00e9 maternelle, ce qui refl\u00e8te un manque abyssal d&#039;acc\u00e8s et d&#039;utilisation de prestataires de sant\u00e9 form\u00e9s pendant l&#039;accouchement.<\/li>\n<li>Le taux de mortalit\u00e9 infantile en Sierra Leone, au Lib\u00e9ria et en Guin\u00e9e a chut\u00e9 de fa\u00e7on spectaculaire ces derni\u00e8res ann\u00e9es, mais leurs taux sont toujours parmi les plus \u00e9lev\u00e9s au monde. Au Lib\u00e9ria, environ 1 enfant sur 10 meurt avant son premier anniversaire.<\/li>\n<li>Les d\u00e9penses de sant\u00e9 par habitant en Sierra Leone sont de $205, en Guin\u00e9e de $67 et au Lib\u00e9ria de $102. Si l&#039;on reste dans la section \u00ab L \u00bb de la liste des indicateurs de sant\u00e9 de l&#039;OMS, on constate que la Lituanie d\u00e9pense $1 426 par habitant, le Liban $979 et le riche Luxembourg d\u00e9pense $6 341 par personne.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Tout \u00e7a <em>avant de<\/em> Ebola. Et ce n&#039;est pas comme si ces pays avaient des taux intrins\u00e8quement \u00e9lev\u00e9s de mortalit\u00e9 maternelle et infantile ; ces taux refl\u00e8tent clairement des syst\u00e8mes de soins de sant\u00e9 qui ne desservent pas pleinement leurs populations, pour une multitude de raisons.<\/p>\n<p>Ebola a mis en lumi\u00e8re le fait que notre r\u00e9silience mondiale \u00e0 un virus comme Ebola repose sur la r\u00e9silience des syst\u00e8mes de sant\u00e9 au Lib\u00e9ria, en Sierra Leone et en Guin\u00e9e. Il n&#039;y a pas d&#039;isolement, il n&#039;y a pas d&#039;\u00eeles en mati\u00e8re de sant\u00e9 mondiale. Il \u00e9tait peut-\u00eatre tentant de penser qu&#039;il y en avait et que la fragilit\u00e9 du syst\u00e8me de sant\u00e9 lib\u00e9rien n&#039;\u00e9tait une trag\u00e9die que pour les Lib\u00e9riens.
