L'UNICEF et ses partenaires sont descendus dans les rues de Conakry aujourd'hui pour lutter contre l'\u00e9pid\u00e9mie d'Ebola avec des informations sur la mani\u00e8re de prot\u00e9ger les familles et de pr\u00e9venir la propagation, nous avons distribu\u00e9 du savon et du chlore. Avec l'aimable autorisation de l'UNICEF Guin\u00e9e<\/p><\/div>\n

\u00c0 ce stade de l'\u00e9pid\u00e9mie d'Ebola, la communication sanitaire est importante mais elle doit inclure une forte composante de mobilisation sociale si nous esp\u00e9rons des r\u00e9sultats rapides. En examinant les trois pays Ebola (Guin\u00e9e, Lib\u00e9ria et Sierra Leone), nous savons que la propagation rapide de la maladie peut \u00eatre attribu\u00e9e aux comportements \u00e0 risque adopt\u00e9s par les personnes en raison du manque d'informations sur la cause de la maladie, du d\u00e9ni et des rumeurs.<\/p>\n

Dans certains cas, les informations fournies \u00e9taient tout simplement fausses, comme en Guin\u00e9e o\u00f9 les gens ont \u00e9t\u00e9 officiellement inform\u00e9s au d\u00e9but de l'\u00e9pid\u00e9mie qu'Ebola ne pouvait pas \u00eatre trait\u00e9. Cette d\u00e9sinformation a incit\u00e9 les gens \u00e0 garder les malades \u00e0 la maison, une pratique risqu\u00e9e qui a probablement contribu\u00e9 \u00e0 la propagation de la maladie.<\/p>\n

Les pays Ebola ont besoin d'informations pr\u00e9cises sur sa transmission (interaction humaine, contact non humain). Avec les bonnes informations, nous pouvons d\u00e9finir les pratiques cl\u00e9s \u00e0 promouvoir au niveau communautaire en mati\u00e8re de pr\u00e9vention et de recherche de soins. Ensuite, nous pouvons identifier les canaux de communication appropri\u00e9s pour diffuser ces informations cl\u00e9s.<\/p>\n

Sachant que dans tous les pays Ebola, les gens ne font pas toujours confiance aux instances dirigeantes, il sera important d'identifier des sources d'information fiables capables de faire passer des messages et de convaincre les gens d'agir tr\u00e8s rapidement. Une forte approche de mobilisation communautaire sera n\u00e9cessaire pour collaborer avec les leaders communautaires qui ont le pouvoir d'influencer rapidement d'autres personnes.<\/p>\n

En Guin\u00e9e par exemple, des groupes de \u00ab sages \u00bb appel\u00e9s \u00ables hommes sages<\/em>\u00bb sont situ\u00e9s dans la capitale pour repr\u00e9senter les int\u00e9r\u00eats de leurs \u00e9lecteurs rest\u00e9s au pays et recherchent continuellement des ressources pour contribuer au d\u00e9veloppement de leurs r\u00e9gions ou comt\u00e9s. Ces groupes n'ont aucun parti pris politique et sont compos\u00e9s de dirigeants politiques, de la soci\u00e9t\u00e9 civile, de chefs religieux, de femmes leaders et de jeunes. Ils peuvent jouer un r\u00f4le cl\u00e9 dans la lutte contre Ebola, qu'il s'agisse de relayer des messages aux \u00e9lecteurs rest\u00e9s au pays ou de faciliter un dialogue avec ceux qui souhaitent exprimer leurs pr\u00e9occupations et r\u00e9pondre aux questions sur la maladie d'Ebola. D'autres dirigeants influents \u00e0 consid\u00e9rer sont les chefs tribaux et religieux. Les gens les \u00e9coutent plus que les dirigeants nomm\u00e9s par le gouvernement. Cet effort de mobilisation sociale devrait \u00eatre soutenu par d'autres supports de communication, notamment la radio, les supports \u00e9crits, la sant\u00e9 mobile et la t\u00e9l\u00e9vision.<\/p>\n

Puisque nous savons aujourd'hui que toutes les personnes atteintes d'Ebola ne meurent pas, les histoires personnelles de personnes gu\u00e9ries apr\u00e8s avoir souffert d'Ebola pr\u00e9sent\u00e9es \u00e0 la t\u00e9l\u00e9vision peuvent aider \u00e0 convaincre les gens que l'isolement pr\u00e9coce peut aider \u00e0 g\u00e9rer et \u00e0 traiter la maladie.
